I Guess It’s Mostly The Drowning

My Four Year Old Skating“Daddy, you can’t roller skate at the bottom of the ocean,” my four year old declared.

“Really?” I asked, “Why is that?”

“Well” she said, “It’s too slippery.”

“Is that the only reason?” I asked.

“Hmmm” she pondered, “No, I guess you would also drown.”

“But it’s mostly because it’s too slippery?” I asked

She paused and then said, “No, I guess it’s mostly the drowning.  But it is awful slippery!”

Not Going to Spoon It

“Daddy, where did you put Great-Grandmama’s birthday cake?” My Four Year Old asked, innocently.

“You’ve already had some, and you don’t need anymore.” I replied.

“Yes, but where did it go?” she asked.

“I put it somewhere safe.” I answered.”

“Daddy, will you please tell me where you put the cake?” she pleaded, “I’m not going to spoon it.”

“Then why do you have a spoon in your hand?” I asked, suspiciously.

Without missing a beat, she answered.  “I’m going to look at it.  Look, the spoon is shiny like a mirror.  I’m not going to spoon the cake, I’m just going to mirror it.  See?”
